Mateo Moreno
At OpenGeoHub, Mateo supports the foundation’s current and future European Commission-funded and other international projects where there is a need to develop new solutions for geocomputing, optimize and automate modeling frameworks, and deliver scientific outputs.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Designing and implementing space-time models using data-driven methods;
• Preparing, importing, pre-processing, and visualizing remote sensing data;
• Running cross-validation and accuracy assessment within statistical frameworks;
• Producing complete datasets, packaged software, and user-friendly documentation, including tutorials for other researchers.
Mateo obtained his doctoral degree in 2025 and has a background in natural hazard modeling. Besides the above-mentioned tasks, his function also includes the publication of results in peer-reviewed journals.
