Fee Gevaert
At OpenGeoHub, Fee will research the required digital infrastructure relating to FAIR-TRUST-CARE principles for enabling bottom-up data governance. This is a part of the AI4SoilHealth and Open Earth Monitor Cyberinfrastructure projects, and an open forcefield in Earth Data science. For “privacy” reasons, many publicly funded datasets are unavailable to the public and there is no Open Source cyberinfrastructure for fine-grained privacy regulations on geospatial data. Furthermore, when data from indigenous peoples is concerned, they deserve autonomy over their own data, as well as fine-grained authority and control over who accesses and processes their data and for what purposes. These two problems could be solved with a workflow that smoothens data sharing agreements, non-disclosure agreements and ensures strongest feasible protection of sensitive data.
